What is Bullous Diabeticorum?
Bullous Diabeticorum is a skin condition strongly associated with diabetes.
Who is at risk?
People with long-standing diabetes and associated complications are at a greater risk of developing the condition. The condition is slightly more common in men than in women.
What are the signs and symptoms?
The condition is characterized by the sudden appearance of large, tense, painless blisters (bullae) that appear spontaneously, often on the feet, lower extremities, and hands. The blisters are often asymmetrical and can rupture after about a week, leaving behind a painless ulcer with a firm crust.
